Our goats are registered through the Myotonic Goat Registry (MGR). Kids sold will be registered under the name Lotus Lake Farm; a completed application for registration will be supplied. Goats already registered will be sold with registration papers and a transfer form.
A $100 deposit is required to hold a goat for purchase and is applied toward the final purchase price. Deposits may be made by cash, personal check, cashier's check, or electronic payment.
A pickup date will be set at the time of receiving the deposit; your current contact information is required to finalize the purchase. Transportation must be scheduled within 2 weeks of receiving the deposit. If transportation will be delayed for some time, additional charges for board may apply.
The remaining balance, including fees for veterinary health certificates, if needed, or board, must be paid in full by cash before a goat leaves the farm.
Transportation must be arranged for and paid by the buyer. For interstate travel, a health certificate may be required, depending on your state or livestock shipper. Please contact us if a certificate is needed. Costs for veterinary health inspections and shipping are in addition to the price of the goat.
If you or the transporter miss the scheduled pickup time, we will attempt to reach you using the contact information you provided. If 2 additional weeks have passed and we cannot contact you or arrangements are not made, the goat will be re-offered for sale and all deposits and payments previously made will be forfeited.
Our goats are given CD&T vaccinations, starting at 6 weeks of age with a second vaccination at 3-4 weeks, and given an annual booster every year. Pregnant does are vaccinated 30 days prior to kidding. All goats are wormed as needed and hooves are trimmed every 6-8 weeks. We bolus our goats for copper supplementation and treat for seasonal lice, flies, and ticks.
Our goats are guaranteed to be in good health at the time of sale and when they are scheduled to leave the farm. If a goat develops health issues after they leave the farm, an examination by our veterinarian is required. If distance prevents our veterinarian from examining the goat, the buyer's veterinarian must do the examination and confer with our veterinarian to determine the cause of illness. All veterinary expenses requested are the responsibility of the buyer. Refunds will only be given if our veterinarian has found that the health issue was contracted while the goat was on our farm. No refunds will be granted for other issues.
